Marine Grade Snaps 
These snaps are all marine grade in either black anodized brass or stainless steel. The button piece comes in several different colors in the Durable Dot size: stainless, brass, black, flat black, marine blue, navy blue, burgundy, grey, forest green, brown, tan or white. Baby dot size comes in nickel plated brass.

Common Sense Fasteners
Although these are the fasteners typically found on boats, the uses are endless. From dodgers and boom covers to awnings and tarps to bags and purses, these fasteners are definitely handy. Use a pair of needle nose pliers to set the fabric stud and eyelet. Use the Common Sense Eyelet Hole Punch to make perfect holes for the eyelet and washer (otherwise use a razor blade to cut the holes).

Common Sense Eyelet Hole Punch
One of the hardest parts of using common sense fasteners is cutting the oblong hole and the four holes for the prong to fit through.  This punch does all of it at one time.  A great way to save time and frustration.  This tool should be used with the self healing cutting pad below. To enhance the life expectancy of your tool use a rawhide hammer or wooden mallet, not a steel hammer.

Self Healing Cutting Pad
Now available in two sizes! This cutting pad is a must for using punch type hole cutters.  Made of resilient vinyl plastic, these tough cutting pads allow the cutting die to easily cut through the fabric and into the pad.  Should be used on a solid base like the Mini Anvil below.

C.S. Osborne #89.5: Barrel Shaped Hickory Mallet    
When setting snaps or grommets, it is highly recommended to use a wooden or rawhide mallet. The Osborne #89.5 Hickory Mallet is an excellent choice! Made of second growth lacquered hickory, carefully finished and well balanced.

C.S. Osborne #196: Rawhide Mallet with Solid Head    
When setting snaps or grommets, it is highly recommended to use a wooden or rawhide mallet. The Osborne #196 Rawhide Mallet with solid head is an excellent choice! The head of this light-weight mallet is made entirely of rolled water buffalo rawhide. Handle is white hickory. It is recommended for many jobs where the user wishes to avoid scaring.
