Outdoor Gear Prep for Your Favorite Springtime Activities
Springtime season is just around the corner, and you know what that means: time to go fishing, climbing, and biking -- no wonder why these are the top three outdoor activities during springtime. In the next few weeks, you’ll find yourself with plenty of time to do some deep spring cleaning of all your outdoor gear. Plus, you’ll also have some spare time to DIY the right gear using our outdoor fabrics.

Prepping Your Fishing Gear

There’s nothing better than a fishing excursion on a sunny spring day. Having the right outdoor gear for your fishing trip can make or break the experience, so make sure you bring these with you.

Fishing Vest

With our classic rogue river vest pattern, you’ll have everything you need for your fishing and outdoor activities. The design comes with two small, four medium, and two large cargo pockets to keep your items organized. It also features two wide inner pockets to hold your valuables. Plus, it has large zipper pockets in the front and back for ventilation. Our fishing vest pattern lets you choose the number of pockets you want in your design, so you can customize this to fit your needs.

Cargo Pants

A fishing trip without comfortable cargo pants can be a bit of a nightmare. Use our Fish Lake cargo rain pants pattern to DIY the perfect outdoor gear for the season. Use lightweight waterproof fabrics to stay fresh and dry during your outdoor adventures. The design is ideal for helping you store all your fishing tools, and because it’s waterproof, you can easily walk in the water without worrying your items will get wet.

Getting Your Climbing Gear Together

Springtime brings the ultimate weather conditions for rock climbing. But, not having the right gear can be dangerous. As you’re prepping your outdoor gear for your favorite springtime activities, don’t forget to get some tubular nylon webbing for your climbing adventures.

Most climbers prefer tubular webbing to flat webbing because of its flexibility. Tubular webbing can take up to 4,000 pounds of pressure before breaking, making it extremely safe and reliable for climbers. It also knots easier than flat webbing, working for evacuation harnesses, etriers, multipoint anchors, and more.

Gear Prep for Biking

Before you hit the road, making sure your bike and outdoor gear are prepared for safety is a must. Luckily, you don’t have to invest a lot to make sure your biking outfit is safe. Start by getting our reflective fabric tape. Add this to your clothes, your backpack, and even on your bike. Reflective tape is a must-have while biking in low visibility conditions or at nighttime.

Don’t forget to add our gripper elastic yard. Designed with bikers in mind, our gripper elastic features a rubber compound that stops bike shorts from slipping. All you need is to sew them onto the end of bike shorts to keep them in place while you ride.

As you’re getting ready for all your springtime outdoor activities, don’t forget to do a complete spring cleaning checklist of all your gear. Check your boots, clothes, backpacks, and tents to make sure they’re clean, fresh, and still in great shape. Don’t forget to restock your first aid kit. Once you’ve gone through your list, you’ll be ready for your next outdoor adventure.
